A Moxie Glossary of Designer Fabulousity

Kate Boggiano—A Chicago designer who specializes in quality tailored blouses, jackets and dresses. Her designs are manufactured and sourced in the Chicago area and her Fall 2009 wool and velvet jacket “Elizabeth” was featured in the Fall fashion edition of Chicago Magazine and Texas Monthly.

Alice Berry — Another Chicago designer who creates wonderfully architectural designs. Her jackets, dresses and tops are works of art in themselves. She works mainly in natural fibers and her pieces are also manufactured in good ‘ol Chi-town.

XCVI — A Los Angeles based clothing company whose vision is “to develop wearable, moveable, breathable clothing for women who believe in style, but also believe in comfort.” Each piece is cut to order and dyed to the specifications of each store, making the Moxie selection truly unique.

Jonano — The company that pioneered “eco-cashmere,” a 90% bamboo knit. Each piece is bamboo or organic cotton based, and they focus on “merging boutique fashion design with environmental awareness.”

Be.ology — A company “dedicated to spreading positive thoughts, words, and energy to initiate a movement of compassion, acceptance, and empowerment in the world.” Their line of t-shirts, tanks, jackets, wraps and accessories is a fashionable way to wear your heart on your sleeve.

Pine Cone Hill — A high quality line of pajamas that is both quirky and classic. Their newest venture is the comfy, stylish lounge wear line called “Fit Knit,” a bamboo-based collection that includes knit dresses, capris and casual jackets.

Rebel Green — Retro design tees, tanks and thermals that use organic cotton and environmentally-friendly low-impact dyes. This sassy line originates in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and until recently,was only available at the Rebel Green Store at the Blatz and the fashionable Fred Segal in Santa Monica, California. They have since branched out to Illinois and Massachusetts. Like all trend-setters, Moxie is the first to bring this eco chic line to Minnesota!
